A Journey Through Croatia’s Coastline

I had such a great time in Croatia, it honestly exceeded all of my expectations. Between the history, the food, the nightlife, and the beautiful beaches , there’s something for every kind of traveler. I tried to squeeze in as much as I could, and every day felt like a mix of adventure and relaxation.
Of course, my trip didn’t start out as smoothly as planned. On my very first day, I managed to scrape my leg on a boat propeller. It wasn’t serious, but being a bit of a hypochondriac, I didn’t want to take any chances. I headed to the hospital to get a tetanus shot, expecting it to be a long and expensive ordeal. To my surprise, the whole visit only cost €30! Back home, something that quick and routine would’ve easily been over $1,000. I left not just with peace of mind, but also with a newfound appreciation for how accessible healthcare is there.
That little hiccup aside, the rest of my trip was smooth. The locals were genuinely friendly and always willing to help or point me in the right direction. Every view felt like a postcard. The ancient stone walls against the bright blue ocean water never got old.
TIPS
Bring cash! Debit/Credit card is accepted, but a lot of restaurants and vendors ask for cash.
Island hop
Uber is relatively cheap but walking may be the best route. A walk to the city center of Split is only about 20-30 min max from most places you would stay at.
Book ferries in advance

Where to stay
Airbnb - I couldn’t have asked for a better Airbnb. The location was about a 25-minute walk from most of the main attractions, which made it easy to explore while still being tucked away from the busiest parts of town.
The apartment itself was spacious, clean, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. But what really stood out wasn’t just the space, it was the host. She had the kind of hospitality that makes you feel like more than just a guest. During my stay, I broke my phone and needed help either finding a repair shop or buying a temporary replacement. Not only did she point me in the right direction, but she actually walked me all the way to the store and even followed up afterward to make sure everything worked out. If you’re ever visiting Split, I’d definitely recommend considering booking with her Airbnb.
