If you love Thai food here in the States, you are going to lose your mind when you realize how much better it tastes in its homeland!! There are many things to do and see in Phuket, such as visiting the beautiful beaches, exploring the night markets, and taking part in water sports activities like snorkeling and scuba diving. You could also take a day trip to the nearby islands like Phi Phi Island or James Bond Island.

In this blog, I will share my itinerary, tips, and recommendations on things to do in Phuket.

Check out my Tiktok video!

Cost

  • Flight from JFK to Thailand = $1,190

  • Bus Transportation from the airport to the hotel = 26 USD (This was the cost per person for 11 people)

  • Pawaburi Resort for 7 night stay = $250 per person

  • Temple = Free but transportaion was 11 USD per person

  • Phi Phi Island Tour - 100 USD

  • Elephant Sanctuary - 75 USD

  • Cafe Del Mar - 100 USD

TIPS

  • The flight is very long if traveling from the USA. Therefore, please bring/wear compression socks and every few hours get up and walk on the plane to avoid blood clots.

  • Download a Translator app

  • Download Bolt or Grab - A cheap taxi service to get around the island

  • Download the currency app if you want to keep tabs on how much you're spending

  • Download Whats App - The best way to keep in contact with staff or taxi services

  • It might be beneficial to pay for a driver for the whole day, depending on where you are going and how big your group is. This was very helpful because they will stay and wait for you the entire time! The excursions can typically be cheap so maybe even pay for them to join the activities with you!

  • Excursions can be booked fast such as the Phi Phi Island tour. Therefore, it might be good to book in advance!

  • Convert your money to their currency (baht) before going or at airport!

Where to stay:

The hotel I stayed at was encompassed by flourishing green plants draping down the railings with complimenting palm trees. The hotel was visually striking, with vibrant and trendy decor. During my stay at this hotel, I booked two rooms. One for the first half of the stay: A swim-up pool room, and believe me, I enjoyed going straight into the pool. For a nice touch, they offered a kayak to use in the pool at no cost! For the second half: A jacuzzi pool suite. This offered a private plunge pool on the balcony with astonishing views of the vast crystal clear blue ocean stretching out as far as the eye can see. The sunsets/sunrises from the bed were top TIER.

The only downside is the Hotel is pretty far from excursions/city (30 minutes to an hour), but I believe it is more than worth it. Catching a car ride is relatively cheap; Therefore, the additional time to get to places is not a problem at all! I did not enjoy the food at this resort; however, there is a little shack right outside of the hotel that prepared the most amazing Thai food I have ever had!!! All of the food outside of the resort was amazing.
